(ok, so it's technically 11...I'm not good at making decisions. Even still, I feel bad about leaving others out...but these would be a top 10 to give an adequate variety, I think)

Interesting....I'd say several of those (in particular, The Hunger Games, Speak, Twisted and Such a Pretty Girl - I haven't read some of the others) are just as important for a middle school classroom library. Maybe not 6th grade for all of them, but certainly 8th. Either way, you just gave me a bunch of new books to look into!
