Hi, Rachel. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.I don't think that I incorporate technology as much as I should, and I definitely don't use the SmartBoard to its fullest. I tend to use it as an overhead more than anything else, although I like to play review games on it. It also makes for a great video screen when we're watching movies (curriculum based, of course ...)I wish I had a computer for every kid, but that's just not possible. We use the computer lab when we can, and I like using WebQuests to help them prepare for a new unit. WebQuests are great tools for giving background info.
One of the coolest things I learned this year was the timing feature of Power Point! You can practice with the presentation and set the time each slide is projected. Then, save it and from then on it is projected at the speed you practiced at! It's wonderful. I use it for songs. It's perfect! That way I can sing and do the motions without having to click each slide forward. Although I doubt that high school English teachers do too many songs, if there are any other Elementary school foreign language teachers reading, it's quite handy! =)
